Yet another wordpress annoyance…
When exporting Blogroll as OPML, it saves “Category” information – data which it summarily ignores upon import…

The beams in the roof of New College, Oxford
Three people in my life have to date quoted a nice story at me, with various endings – the ecomentalist: http://www.boingboing.net/2001/12/08/index.html After the giant oak beams in the New College’s great hall rotted out, the Dons of the college were at a loss to source replacement oak timbers of sufficient size. The college forrester came

Pictures of Worcestershire Flooding
The Independent front page. Flickr. Pictures from the BBC – New Road Cricket Ground being flooded out is not unusual, local legend has it of a match where one wicket-keeper was bitten by a Pike – but Holt Heath is high ground, unfortunately on clay, so that’s probably why it’s flooded. The Trend of the Month…
…is the old die-hard bloggers finally realising that their blogs need an overhaul of look and feel, possibly not to mention method and purpose. Really. Watch this space, or go check out Twitter feeds for Hugh and Winer, although of course as usual they are slightly behind the curve for reasons that will become apparent

Maemo Memo: Configure Stowaway Sierra “Fn” Key
This works: mlindholm: My Stowaway Sierra keyboard arrived today, and in my poking around (and reading other suggestions) I think I found a hack that fixes the “Fn” menu issue. Edit the file /usr/share/X11/xkb/keycodes/xfree86 , and comment out the line: <MENU> = 117; so it reads //<MENU> = 117;
