It takes about three hours to do a coat of paint in my bedroom; this seems like a long time, but includes everything from setting-up to washing-out the rollers and brushes, along with shuffling-around the dust-sheets and suchlike. is it normal, when washing walls prior to painting, for hand-sized patches of wall to be revealed as having barely been painted by the previous occupant, the act of washing removing all the last traces of emulsion, and a pale filigree of unpainted plaster? well, i’ve spent most of the day disassembling, moving, raking, hoovering, cleaning, washing, mixing and pasting polyfilla into sundry grooves, cracks, voids, dents and drill-holes… i am finding it fun, if a little insular to be doing it on my own, not to mention that it seems to mostly comprise short periods of gunkiness, interspersed

i’ve had over 650 downloads of my security training video in the past 10 days! yay! biggest audience i’ve had in a long time, and with less hassle than prepping for training conference delivery! perhaps i’ll crack a bottle of wine this evening, to celebrate, and to make the furniture-moving a bit more pleasant…

well, i had my mate iain around last night, found several cosmetic cracks in my bedroom plasterwork, drained and dismounted the radiators, and moved all my living-things into the spare room. tonight will be removal of shelving and other fittings, and i’ll try and get the beds and other things relocated too. hopefully tomorrow i
