    2007/12/07 18:49:57 GMT

I won the CEC “Best Podcast” award for the “Terabyte iPod” presentation presentation! That’s nice, but the prizes are a choice from 1) a Nintendo Wii, 2) Bose QC3 Headphones, or 3) $200 I already have the Bose, and $200 = £100 which is not a lot; so I am inclined to go with the

Compare: “What you’re losing in the DVD market, you’re not making up on the paid internet side,” says Fishbein. “Instead of 99 cents a song on iTunes, these guys are doing 10 cents a minute for porn.” Contrast: The Mutoscope worked on the same principle as the “flip book.” The individual image frames were conventional

  • The Extra Dimension Of Security Fun Which Facebook Provides

    2007/11/28 09:24:26 GMT

Whilst everybody else dives in to (rightly) slam Facebook for what they are doing with advertising – read especially this one for a summary of the issues – I shall eschew the otherwise interesting discussion of how they are destroying peoples presumptions of a conversation and do what any other committed and rightminded Security Geek

  • Adding Battery Lights to my Brompton

    2007/11/27 09:35:44 GMT

When I purchased by Brompton, I skipped the option of hub-dynamos and other toys, taking the position that what is on the bike must be carried, whereas battery lighting is incrementally upgradable and may be removed in summer. In short: less weight to carry, less to go wrong, and batteries can be bought at any

  • Enable the Fn Key on a Sierra Keyboard for a Nokia N800

    2007/11/26 17:05:56 GMT

My Nokia N800 has to be mildly hacked in order to get my ThinkOutside Stowaway Sierra Keyboard to talk to it. The method changes slightly from revision to revision of the N800 operating system. The problem is: the ‘Fn’ key, as default-configured, brings up a popup menu for whatever application you are using. Alas, that

So I saw the news yesterday, and supposed that I ought to write something about the loss of data perpetrated by the Inland Revenue; but to be frank I cannot be arsed. I can already imagine the potential exposure, risk, and damage. That’s the sort of thing that I think about for fun, so having
