I’d like to report that Hartley Wintney is snowed in — but it’s not…
I’ve often felt that the village gets slightly less severe weather than the surrounding areas – no idea why, perhaps it’s something to do with wind patterns and the rising hill of the Heath to the north – but there’s 4cm of snow out there at best, it’s dappled with grass poking through, and it’s…

Sounds like Jessica #Ahlquist is on Radio4 in a few minutes. #atheism on @bbcr4sunday
You know you’re an atheist when you turn on the radio and only really realise it’s sunday because it’s not the Today programme…

If the prevailing winds are from the continent, I would be expecting Waxwing in the next week or so?

To central Reading via Eversley & Arborfield and returning via Burghfield, Riseley, and Mattingley. The Longbike is comfy enough that I can still walk… deeply w00t! Next stop: the half-century.

Wanted: #Cycle routes to cross the M4 near #Reading / #Rdg between J10 and J12? + Footbridge?
The point where the A33 crosses over the M4 at Junction 11 is pretty hideous for cyclists; the roundabout is filled with fast traffic, its six lanes wide at points, and frankly it seems wisest to steer clear if crossing the motorway North/South. So what are the alternatives, in an area between J10 and J12?…

I’m certain of it. The faint awright of Justin Webb, the nnght of Jim Naughtie. There’s an entire control psychology in there.

On Fleet St and @tom_watson’s breaking #Leveson-based #Nightjack enquiry into at hacking at The Times…
When I hear on Radio 4 that there’s some breaking news that: Not only Tabloids but perhaps also Broadsheets were hacking for stories! …I think of many boozy evenings in 2011 hanging out with journos and being unanimously told that: They were all at it. The lot of them. Without exception. Even the ‘good’ guys.…
