Facebook is an advertising platform.

Is there any platform out there that just makes money doing what it is that it excels at, without leveraging advertising?

Maybe Craigslist?

Or EBay?

Oh, wait, no, they sell advertising.

    I assume you’re not counting such worthy platforms as Wikipedia or the BBC because they don’t make money from what they do on the net?

    Depressingly, it’s very hard to think of one. )-8
