interesting weekend, from the perspective of being busy.

the fact of living on top of myself with everything piled up in the spare bedroom is more pleasant than expected; i suspect that this is purely because i know that it a temporary situation. it would be rather different if i was forced to live in this shoe-horned fashion.

the walls are bare, polyfilled/spackled, washed and prettymuch fit for the paint roller. i’ll stop in the local B&Q this evening, to get some supplies, and do the last bit of making good tonight, setting the room up for painting for the rest of the week.

saturday was ikea day, looking at wardrobes and tables and storage solutions with a female friend who was getting some stuff for her own household. picked up a fourth stool for my kitchen (important now that i am having colleagues over more frequently) and a selection of odds and ends. stopped over at her house to help her / husband in assemble the two book-cases that they purchased.

i suppose it was a total of about 15 hours of ikea-related amusement.

it was nice to have a dose of social-life to see me through sunday; the latter was spent entirely within the house, sanding, raking, spackling and sealing wall stains with a sort of diluted PVA adhesive elmer’s glue-all

all being well, the room will be at-least fit for final colour-painting, if not completed, before i go to see american satirist michael moore on sunday.
