The SocialMediaBan will fail, the only question being how long before it does. Like Brexit, it’s unlikely to be rescinded in its current form because too many narcissistic or hyperfixated do-gooding egos are wrapped up in it, but if that does not happen then it will simply dissolve into irrelevance as kids move over to unfiltered forms of communication.

In the meantime: resist, to show solidarity with youth, and practise circumvention. Unlike Brexit, there is no channel to cross nor any need for small boats. It’s all just speech.
