Ironically I just removed my ginger bug from the fridge to make room for other things. I’ll be using it to feed the compost heap. It’s a few years old now, not been fed in a very long time. Still smells good, but I’m not sure what to do with it.
My homemade ginger beer had such negligible alcohol content I had to add my own. The only way to get a good ginger beer (with alcohol) is at a very big big-box store; where there’s only one brand to try. Apparently it’s too exotic for US tastes.
In other news the ginger I’d been growing in a 5-gallon bucket for nearly two years was harvested and it was about 950 grams! It was a lot of fun to grow. It cracked the bucket! Eaten fresh was amazing. So mellow.
I’ll probably turn most of it into garlic-ginger paste.
