I need to listen to more music – so as a project / proxy for doing actual research I decided to create playlists of the recent Mercury Music Prize winners with a little help from Wikipedia… and then decided to finish the job having started it.

Albums which I could not find are annotated and in italics; if I track them down later I’ll include them and update this post.

Immediate impressions from the project include:

Oasis are stuck-up gThere is no Oasis to be found on Spotify

Classical seems to get a slightly rough deal on Spotify

The MMP nominators really really love Polly Harvey

Prior to 2005 you get a lot less of the one album in many recuts with the same name hassle
