Marketing Groupthink:

  • looks like a duck.
  • quacks like a duck.
  • call it an eagle because both can fly and the latter has better mindshare.

    That is a good one.

    Development: o looks like a duck o quacks like a duck o must be a virtual duck because a real duck has defects and will not act like a real duck

    Building on Dan’s comment, there are two variations:

    (1) We have ducks. Since both ducks and eagles are birds, it should be easy to use a duck to host multiple virtual birds – ducks, eagles, whatever. So now we have eagles.

    (2) We don’t actually have any ducks, but I’m sure this turkey over here can support a virtual duck… as long as you don’t want it to float.
