So what colour was Jesus?Jesus has been named the top black icon by the New Nation newspaper. Their assertion that Jesus was black has raised eyebrows in some quarters – so what colour was he?
…
First – if the past 2,000 years of Western art were the judge, Jesus would be white, handsome, probably with long hair and an ethereal glow.
Second – it can almost certainly be said that Jesus would not have been white. His hair was also probably cut short.

Well, seeing where he was born, where he grew up and his female lineage, he would have been an eastern mediterranian jew. As for hair etc. It’s quite possible that it was in one of the short Roman fashion types.
Each age will re-invent their “Jesus” in their own image. It’s just the way people are. I say to them, it doesn’t matter what he looked like or what his ethnic background was. get over it, it’s unimportant. If you believe that he’s the son of God then by definition he’s at least half no ethnic group what so ever.
Of course, if you believe that God actually made himself in appear in the image of a 3 headed, betenticled slug from a planet in the Andromeda galaxy on the day of the immaculate conception then that would put a whole new light on the matter. But I think someone might have noticed. 🙂
