Really, from around the 01:05 mark.

I know a bunch of exceedingly well-read types in the Met, not universally certainly, but that’s the way of humanity.

I’m not convinced the Conservative chief whip is not possibly a jumped-up arrogant little tit – perhaps he is, perhaps not – however to say that the police are too thick to have the vocabulary to make something like this up is… also somewhat demeaning.

    Similarly, the Met staff I’ve worked with – mostly non-uniformed, but also some with pips – have struck me as being rather widely-read.

    I’ve known some of them to drop into “Sweeney-speak” from time to time, but it was invariably for comic effect involving external perception of the police…
