new iMac, new hardware

So i pointed a colleague at the new iMac – which I don’t like for some reason, looking rather boxy – and he cited several other PC-In-A-Monitor solutions from Computer Trade Shopper.

He then cited this one – Computer-In-A-Keyboard – and I said:

It’s a Sinclair QL, innit? Or maybe an Oric? Dragon32? VIC-20? Just look at it!

…well, it is. [www.3ctech.co.uk]

So: it’s back to 1986 for computer design. Boxy machines and square ergonomics. Trés retro.

    Nah, it’s a Memotech MTX 500/520 (http http://www.mtxworld.dk/main.php) Cerca 1984. 🙂

Oops, that should have been MTX 500/512. Oh well.

Agree on the MTX512 front in terms of form factor – wow, I’m surprised someone else remembers this rather obscure micro.

Now, if the PC was black and had a red stripe across the top…
