Is it me or is #DISQUS totally full of #fail now? Should I recommend #ComputerWorld drop it?

I just wasted nearly 10 minutes trying to “Post As…” on a comment box and _nothing_ worked:

– not logging in with twitter,
– not the creation of a Disqus account and logging in with aforementioned Disqus account
– not logging into the Disqus main site and then going back to the article on which I wanted to comment

I tried it on Chrome, I tried it on Safari, I would try it on Firefox but my Firefox is set up with so much antimalware crap that I couldn’t be sure that wouldn’t kill it.

Is Disqus broken, and if so should I petition ComputerWorld to drop it as an inhibitor to commenting?

I’ve also recently tried posting comments on Disqus-enabled sites, and failed; Disqus account creation appears to be broken, I’m not keen on giving Disqus the privilege to tweet as me, and I’m not on Facebook. After maybe 10 minutes trying to post a nice comment on a CultOfMac article last night, I gave up; so, functionally, Disqus commenting = no commenting. If you want to encourage people to move to alternative comment systems, I’m all for it.

Hi Alec – can you shoot me an email if it’s still not working for you? I navigated to the link you posted and all seems to be good on my end.

    Sorry for the troubles.

    1. Seems to be working no Daniel, thank you.

EDIT: Actually, I spoke too soon, it’s not working for Chrome due to third-party cookie blocking?

        Alec,

Disqus (and similar types of applications) do require third party cookies in order to recognize you. We definitely respect your settings if you choose not to let third party cookies be set.
