TIL there are approx as many Mormons as Jews in the world. Does this qualify as x4 Abrahamic faiths?

Or do Mormons count under Christians? The Muslims respect Issa after all, so the question would presumably be whether JC or JS is prime for the Mormons?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_population

According to the Israel Central Bureau of Statistics there were 13,421,000 Jews worldwide in 2009, roughly 0.19% of the world’s population at the time.[1]

According to the estimates for 2007 of the Jewish People Policy Planning Institute, the world’s Jewish population is 13.2 million.[2] Adherents.com cites figures ranging from 12 to 18 million.[3] These statistics incorporate both practicing Jews affiliated with synagogues and the Jewish community, and approximately 4.5 million unaffiliated and secular Jews.

LDS

With over 50,000 missionaries serving worldwide at any given time, the church currently claims a growing membership of over 14.1 million[1] and is ranked by the National Council of Churches as the fourth largest Christian denomination in the United States.[2]

But Wikipedia says that Mormons are Christian…

Update: + Baha’i – see comments.

I read the start of the second sentence as “The Muslims respect the Information Systems Security Association…”. Note to self: reading other subjects after a few hours editing detailed security infrastructure docs can be surreal ;-).

When it comes to “Abrahamic faiths”, I think it would be nice to see more about Marcion of Sinope from the likes of Robert Piggott et al; I only heard of him in one little-known documentary, and he seems to have a rather important legacy, despite no known copies of his work surviving…

The Mormon religion believes itself to be a Christianity and some Protestant faiths agree and others do not. The Mormons I have met and worked with believe that Christ was divine, died for the sins of the world, and was resurrected. That basically goes with it being a “Christian faith”. They also believe other items which various Protestant, Catholic and Protestant faiths believe are either wrong, blasphemous or just wacky. However, since those faiths also consider the same of each other.. it can be taken with a grain of salt. There is also the Baha’i faith which some consider an Abrahamic tradition and others do not. I don’t know enough one way or another to answer

    1. > There are an estimated five to six million Bahá’ís around the world in more than 200 countries and territories

      Good addition.
