silence to date

Well, things have been chaotic, hence the paucity of posting this past few days; highlights of the past few days include:

  • Filling a gapping chasm in my kitchen wall, the which was left by removal of an ancient clothesdrier outflow pipe which had been duct taped and then plastered into the wall by the previous occupants [www.crypticide.com]

The hole was nicely filled with expanding-foam polyfilla which then extruded from the wall like some sort of evil space meringue [www.crypticide.com] bent upon the destruction of mankind.

The extrusion has now been sawn-off to be reamed and plastered-over until a time when some foolhardy soul once again exposes it to water, whereupon it will expand to take over the planet.

  • Creating lots of [www.crypticide.com] by applying most of my [www.crypticide.com] to long lengths of Aluminium bar to create [www.crypticide.com] which will attach to my [www.crypticide.com] to permit travel to [www.lib.utexas.edu] and [www.lib.utexas.edu]

  • Watching [www.crypticide.com] and sniffing [www.crypticide.com] which is currently in waxy bloom in my neighbourhood, and a jolly nice way to spend five minutes each morning it is, to stand under a tree and shake the branches so that petals fall like pink snow.

Japanese readers will probably be appalled at the notion, but that’s just my way.

  • Listening to the first Cuckoo of spring, which I first heard around 0700 on April 24th, on my morning bike-ride. Likewise I encountered my first summer’s Swallow, and a couple of small deer grazing in the field nearby. Pastoral life is lovely at the moment, although I daresay some people are being woken by the dawn chorus, it can be so deafeningly loud.

  • Oh, and having a birthday. I am now 36. Huzzah.

…and that’sbarely made a dent in the stuff that needs telling. More later.

Happy birthday. And your bizarre way of identifying each and every image with the hostname portion of the URL is frustrating beyond belief. I keep looking for a button like the [LOAD IMAGES] one that OS X’s Mail.app display’s whenever an email has embedded messages that it has elected not to display.

But I guess that’s what pastoral life will do to non-Japanese readers.

I meant it to be thus; a treasure hunt, if you will.

I have to admit that I found the idea of you sniffing http://www.cripticide.com very perplexing, especially as it’s in waxy bloom at the moment, somewhat surreal.

But then maybe I’m just tired after lack of sleep at RR?
