Not quite, but close. I worked for CMC (the UK branch of Microdata) during 1979-81, but rather than programming the Reality (the bit-sliced PICK mini), I was doing a network OS on the Sovereign. This was a neat little system using “workstations” and a “file server” connected over a “LAN” at all of 100Kbps. The CPU was a bit-slice emulation of the Intel 8080, running at about 10MHz – a damn sight faster than anything Intel could build back then. Primary target was commercial data entry, so in addition to the “workstation” we built a headless variety that could drive four dumb screen/keyboard terminals. I was responsible for the core OS and also built a source code control system for the project. Fun stuff.
