Urgh.
Well, my head is now back together, but I could really do with a couply more hours worth of sleep.
Joep from Solaris Software Security Products Group (or whatever they are called this month) arrived late last night; his flight was due at 1920h but landed at 2047h, so in retrospect it was a bit pointless of me to race home, foregoing the trip to the supermarket that I would have taken if I’d thought to check the flight arrivals details on the WWW.
Joep’s staying at my house for two nights whilst delivering a couple of How To Avoid Writing Insecure Code lectures to various CTE and other folks.
He eventually turned up at 2150h, I whipped-up a spiniata and cheshire-cheese omelette with side salad and chardonnay, and then we went to the local pub.
After a minor breach of pub etiquette regarding tipping (which he’d have avoided if had dome some research) two or three pints of Hog’s Back “T.E.A.” (“Trad. English Ale”) later, we wandered home in pitch darkness, stopping to examine the cherry trees that Joep had read about elsewhere.
We chatted and sampled whisky until 1am-ish, and I learned my mistake of leaving the guitar in the spare room whereupon he tuned it and started twanging away. When I reminded him – three or four bars into Wish You Were Here – that I’d be blogging this event, he promptly decided it was time to turn-in.
The morning arrived, we were up way too early (0700h) and Joep got his taxi to Bagshot at 8am. I am helping with Asita VPN experiments today, and Simon Bullen and the chap from Asita are plugging stuff together as I type.
More, later.
