The story so far, let’s see:
last night:
1400 harvest about 4lbs of rhubarb
2000 gym
2100 pointed and pointless discussion with local chav re: his road-positioning and dubious overtakes on his 50cc Aprilia race-rep with L-plates
2130 home
2245 bed
this morning:
0515 awake
0540 feed cat
0600 pot-up courgette seedlings and rearrange gardening gear outside
0630 trim hedges along main pathway
0700 load dishwasher, breadmaker
0745 pot-up tomato seedlings and bring inside until stronger
0830 breakfast – soft boiled eggs
1030 relocate 5 or 6 barrows of rubble from rear of house to front, make good lawn patches
1145 lunch – tuna pasta with basil and lemon
1230 remove 3 rusty iron posts hammered into the ground
1300 clear undergrowth from corner of neighbour’s garden
1400 clear overgrowth from fenceline of upcoming fence, rip out old post
1430 infill dent in lawn over buster
1440 harvest ~1lb excess mint
1445 feed cat again
1450 shower
1500 make tea with the last bit of local honey, some orange pekoe and a handful of fresh mint
Time for a break…
UPDATE: that thing about Mint Tea:
The first glass is as bitter as life,
the second glass is as {sweet, strong} as love,
the third glass is as gentle as death.
…it’s wrong, at least if you’re using orange pekoe; if you let it steep too long, you’ll learn whole new things about bitterness.
Maybe that’s the problem with life, too?
