Presumably this is what comes of changing your backdrop every minute using a shellscript, and not logging out for a couple of days.

Do the GNOME people care?

  1. If this is on Solaris then run nautilus under libumem then gcore the process after it has grown run mdb’s ::findleaks command and submit a bug.

    Alas, but I have no idea where to start interfering with GNOME to get it running libumem; all previous attempts to faff with gnome session startup have ended in pain….

    `gnome-session-remove nautilus` and then run nautilus under libumem
