Buster the Cat, RIP

Buster Closeup

To those who knew him, Buster was found dead this morning in the kitchen, apparently dying in his sleep from complications of liver cancer, thyroid cancer, heart murmurs and palpitations, a slight cold and gastrointenstinal problems, aged about 15.5 years.

Not a bad run for a cat, especially in the face of such odds.

He retained his bolshy good demeanour to the end, and will be buried in the garden in one of his favourite sunny spots.

It was nice to see Buster one last time when we visited, it’s not easy when something so embedded in your life is gone. Take care.

Alec, sorry to hear about Buster. I wouldn’t be surprised if Suzi starts acting slightly differently. When I lost one of my two, the other one paid a lot more attention to me than she did beforehand.

Sorry to hear this Alec. My condolences and best thoughts.

  18. Buster was a real character; sincere condolences, dude.

It’s sad to know that the antelope of Green Lane will be able to roam the veldt, without having to keep one eye looking over their shoulders.

Buster may not have been the most photographed of domestic cats (that claim probably goes to Socks, the Clintons’ pet), but he still had a significant circle of fans and friends, worldwide.

    We’ll miss him.

  19. I am sad to hear about Buster’s passing. It was always a pleasure to visit with him, he was a kind and friendly cat. My heart goes out to you and Suzi.

Aw Alec – I seem to be rather late to this news, but I’m really sorry to hear he’s gone, but it’s lovely he could go in his sleep like that, rather than with another visit to the vet.

big hugs to you old chap and a stroke to Suzi

Sorry about Buster, Alec. I hate losing animals, but from the sound of it he went peacefully, which is something.
