URGENT ALERT FOR SUN/EX-SUN BLOGGERS USING WORDPRESS

Pardon the caps, but this is fairly serious: the last 2 days I have found Akismet marking all of my comments sourced from Sun bloggers – Walker, Moffat, Skrocki – as “spam” and dropping them into the to-be-deleted greylist.

I am not sure why this is so, for the moment I attribute it to a Akismet burp, possibly brought about by the sun.newsiczek.pl splog which is comprehensively indexing and ripping blogs.sun.com content.

If you have a lot of @Sun.COM people commenting on your WordPress blog, go to your Comments > Akismet Spam tab, and do a search for “Sun”.

It looks like we can no longer assume Akismet is doing the right thing?

    Problems with Akismet…

    To keep spam outside my blog, i configured my blog to use Akismet. This is a centralised AntiSpam service. This worked reasonably well, thus i configured an automatic rejection of comments declared as spam by Akismet. After this entry in Alec Muffet b…

    Still trying to get a grip on the problem which will raise the issue above “yeah, yeah…” level.
