still no cat

still no sign of my cat, suzi.

i don’t know which is worse – the not knowing what has happened, or the artificial expectation and dashing of hope every time i get home and open the door to not find her home.

the local vet has not had any car-accident victims, and apparently if she’s chipped and found I can expect a phonecall the same day.

the local government environmental health department have not found any dead cats matching her description, and apparently they do chip-scanning too.

being chipped has made things worse for me, effectively; if she’d been found by an authority figure of some sort, then i would know about it, so the conclusion is that either she’s:

  • freeloading at someone’s house, or
  • trapped under a shrub / in a garage, and probably dead, or
  • run over and thrown in the trash by someone who couldn’t be arsed / was too britishly embarassed to phone.

…none of which provide hope or help.

time for a poster campaign.
