I’ve been getting the attached facebook login screen for the past 14-ish hours:
Hey, your account is temporarily unavailable due to site maintenance. It should be available again within a few hours. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Facebook is obviously “up” for most people, but I am wondering if this is just me or whether some fraction of its userbase are all out of action?
“What’s the problem, guys?”
No problem here in Seattle (from home or work).

Fine for me. My current nightmare is that I’ve started a group, open to *anyone* anywhere, but lots of people aren’t getting the “join this group” link. Argh.
I’m actually surprised they haven’t had more outages considering the year they have had and how they have had to ramp up from a few servers to currently being the 8th most visited website on the net. http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details?url=facebook.com
I ran into the exact same message earlier this afternoon while browsing a friend’s photos, but it only lasted a minute. I pulled up the Facebook login screen through trying to get to an application, and it let me in, and I haven’t had the problem again since (the last two hours). Odd…it seems this is an intermittent problem stretching back a while.
