On the road from Canberra’s city centre to the office there’s a fair bit of construction going on — new appartment blocks being constructed or existing ones being improved — and at one of the sites there’s a big sign next to the pavement that reads “Pedestrians watch out for trucks”.

Well, no. If a trucker finds it necessary to come drive his truck on the pavement (s)he’s the one who should watch out for the intended users of that bit of infrastructure…

Then again, this is the place where they’ve built their parliament house on a roundabout…
