Comment from Bridget: “Nice. Very English Communter Belt.”

Yeeeeeessss… well, that’s sorta the point.

Took it out for the obligatory test ride; the steering is slightly off to the right but I can have that sorted on the first service. It feels like a BMX or kid’s bike. Takes years off you.

Looks good, except the saddle wouldn’t be my choice.

Can’t you adjust the steering yourself on a brompton then? Is that to prevent it twisting when folding?

Actually the steering is pretty easily changable, like a standard bike; but i have 2 free services with the cycle, so why risk screwing it up with the wrong tools when someone with the proper equipment can do it for me in a few weeks ?

As for the saddle – well I was going for a classic look. For sometihng so light it’s bloody comfy.

I do have an admiration for Brompton’s. They’re British, they’re steel and they’re somehow iconic. I approve of the Brookes saddle as well!

They’re supposed to improve with age as the leather softens and moulds itself to you.
