I have one thing I can say about American Express’ Corporate Cards group – they are wonderful to deal with on the phone. The card may be a pain to use in the UK, but if you are a traveller and then something goes wrong with the bill, or if anything needs sorting out, the customer services team are brilliant.

Hahah! When Rachel and I lived in Brighton in 1997, she worked in the Amex corporate dept. I was just looking at applying for the internship that got me my job at that point, and she observed that of all the people who used to call in, Sun employees were the nicest!
Sun were apparently amongst the worst at paying expenses to their employees – people from Sun were constantly calling in to explain why their payments were late. However, they were apparently never depressed about it. Always with the happy.
I’m sure it’s changed a bit since we stopped being a magical cash factory, but still.. funny.
