Recorded For Training Purposes – BBC Radio 4

I wonder – will this be satire, or anti-blogging propaganda?

BBC Ticketing

Recorded for Training Purposes is a new sketch show about modern communication and media nonsense.

Created by a multi- award winning team, whose credits include The Now Show, Dead Ringers, Think the Unthinkable and The Sunday Format, it is a showcase for new writing talent working with established writers.

Blogs, wikis and conspiracy theorists are part of fast-paced and innovative mix that sends up contemporary obsessions and the cult of broadcasting yourself.

We’ve got more ways than ever to communicate but are making less and less sense.

It stars a fine selection of sketch performers:

  • Dominic Coleman (Swinging, Five)
  • Ben Willbond (Deep Trouble R4, The Catherine Tate Show BBC2)
  • Rachel Atkins (15 Storeys High, BBC3)
  • Lewis MacLeod (2DTV, Bremner, Bird & Fortune C4)
  • Ingrid Oliver

Please note there is a maximum of 6 tickets per applicant.

It’s like everything else. It’s “satire” if one is not part of the target, and “propaganda” is one is.

    Fair point. 🙂

I suspect I’ve just seen too much of the “bloggers need to be regulated and have a code of conduct” stuff of late – news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/6191988.stm being the most egregious case of “not getting it” of late.
