Geek Girl Dinner

It’s 0308am and I am safely back from the 9th London Geek Girl Dinner (Holly, this may interest you for future reference?) meeting a variety of people, listening to a series of differently-interesting talks from various folk including Maryam Scoble, and I met Nick Ward and Hugh MacLeod amongst others.

Pictures will be forthcoming on Flickr, tomorrow.

Had dinner with Adriana at Wong Kei which has cleaned up its act a bit since I used to go there in the 80s; a mild bit of celeb-spotting ensued when Tim Curry and a small entourage arrived and took a table behind me. Left them to it and walked back to Embankment.

Arrived at 0010h to find the only train option was the 0105h to Guildford, and thence bus to Farnborough. Gave a lift from Farnborough to a nice couple from Ringwood – Simon and Jane – him working for a freelance photography studio based near the Shell garage in Fleet.

Then home and cat feeding, and now to bed.

Ttfn.

Mmm, a gathering which calls itself a dinner but at which they don’t serve food? That’s a novel one…
