The Models

Four Racing bicycles, three MTBs and one Street Bike. A SINGLE colour solo: RED. The names, taken from the motorcycling world past and present, are sure to conquer even the less attentive consumer: FACTORY, FACTORY 900, FACTORY 900R, FACTORY 900XR for the racing bikes. Factory as the name of the official racing motorcycles that Ducati Corse outfits for both the Motorcycling GP and the Superbike world championship. SCRAMBLER 140, SCRAMBLER XS, SCRAMBLER XR, for the MTBs. Scrambler to suggest one of the most successful models in the great history of Ducati. An eclectic motorcycle, suitable for mixed terrains but most importantly boasting excellent cycling features. A synonym of unequalled performances and timeless Italian style. A tribute to history, which has never been so up to date. PANIGALE for the unique and trendy Street bike of the range. Borgo Panigale identifies the area on the outskirts of Bologna that has always been the headquarters of the historical DUCATI plant. A tribute for a city bike destined to define a new urban style of experiencing the bicycle.

I guess this could most appropriately be classified as “bike porn”. I have vivid memories of watching scramblers doing impossible things in infinitely-deep mud with Ducatis…..

So has Bianchi completely foresaken its roots and become nothing more than a division of the Ducati motorcycle company?

If the press release had read “Four Racing bicycles, a single colour, celeste” then it might be worthy of the name Bianchi.

Can I hear Fausto “ruotando” Coppi gently spinning in his grave?
