so i’m lying on the bed in the front room, sprawled out with the crutches and leg-brace on the floor beside me, watching some trashy “lives of the hollywood celebs” documentary on some random satellite channel.

all of a sudden there’s a fluttering sensation on the left side of my waist, then a then a twinge, then a sort-of squelch, and spontaneously my left side returns to life.

i’ve never felt a nerve “come online” before.

touch, sensation, pain… it’s all back. it still feels like i’ve been pummeled – but now it’s honest pain, no longer a numb tingling as if i’ve slept on it wrong and it’s somehow “fallen asleep”.

so i think that’s the last of the nerve damage.
