Future Plans

Amazing how you gan get into more pain as you heal; the ribs arestitching into bigger plates and the latter are moving tectonically, and so I’ve been swearing a lot of late. Comfort is improving, but the gaps between comfort are getting worse.

Diclofenac is currently my best friend, though it combined with the food and being horizontal makes me smell like a skunk.

We’re pencilling a return-home date of saturday, to be confirmed.

Good luck with the RTB on Saturday!

At least this time you shouldn’t have to worry about them dropping you..

When I had two ribs cracked while playing Ultimate Frisbee, I reached a whole new level of pain when I started doing crunches (sit-ups) to recover.

As I said, “Pain is just a sign of weakness leaving the body.”

    Being ignored by your cats…

    Alec,

Good to see you make progress! Too bad you’re too far away for a one-day-visit now that you’ve moved across the channel… Anyway, please add a day or two to your “back-to-feeling-normal” schedule as you’ll most likely be ignored by your foor-legged friends for a while for abandoning them for this long… 😉

I’m glad you’re doing so well. That’s fantastic.

I take it you’re getting on well with diclofenac. For me it makes me vomit and vomit and it just isn’t worth taking.

As for the cats, there’s nothing like a can of tuna to regain friendship very fast!

    diclofenac

i’m laying off the diclofenac for the moment; my tummy was feeling a bitsensitive, and it’s notorious for eating your stomach unless it’s taken with food, so I’ve taken a break. it works, though.

I’m glad it works for you.

One of the joys (well not really) of Amy’s birth was I got to try several different prescription painkillers and I have discovered that I can’t tolerate any of them at all. Diclofenac is on my list of absolutely not to take.

ps Having left our cats in a cattery to go on holiday, I went to pick them up today. I am pleasantly surprised that they are not sulking. They also are not hiding which is great.
