How to perform Multiselect on an Android device using OpenMTP to access the filesystem

OpenMTP is great, but it’s not entirely intuitive. The biggest issue is finding out how to do multiselect of items without clicking lots of selection boxes.

Fortunately the answer is hiding in plain sight on the Github page.

If this post has helped you, please leave a comment below because it took me ages to find this out and I would like to think that the effort was not in vain.

It’s a bit better, as pressing shift down is a bit less strenuous than mouse clicking over and over, but still not able to select in batch mode. But you still need to press the down key one at a time, pressing N times for N files. On the other hand, batch select should only take two clicks, one at beginning of the list and one shift click at end of it. But thanks for your effort in spotting the original instructions. The ultimate solution still requires the developer’s valuable contribution.
