   Well the intention is commuting, day-tripping and local medium distance, eg: to check up on nearby geocaches; however for the commute run I shall be holding off until (a) the trike’s run-in, (b) sunset is an half an hour after I like to get home, and (c) my fitness levels generally improve.

   That won’t be for a while yet.

   Powerlinks

   I have powerlinks in my Shimano chain. It took me a few goes to realise that the technique for removal is to squeeze the link together, ie across the width of the chain, and then push togther along the length. If you look closely at the link you can see a depression in the eye hole that the pin sits in – if you squeezing the link lifts the pin out of it.

   Just make sure you have a couple of spares with you when you go out ! I was glad when I blew my links up, as can be seen here :
