In which we present a counter-argument to Baroness Benjamin: Unrolled

Baroness Benjamin: I too am concerned regarding societal violence that is directed against women; but per the evidence I submitted to Parliament — https://medium.com/@alecmuffett/on-the-digital-economy-bill-1df356862ac2 — Part 3 of the Digital Economy Bill is not fit for use, nor will it solve the issue.

What we need is social change, and such will come about in our schools and in our schooling, and it will take a generational investment.

The Internet is “the Internet” — it is not a playground for kids, as @neil_neilzone describes:

Unilateral demands upon the world’s websites to protect British children — or: global children — will not work, in a “Canute-should-demand-the-tides-to-stop” kind of way.

The route to a kinder, safer Britain, lies in our schools, and in teaching respect.
