Quote> Not just the Great Firewall level firewall! Look at this cybersecurity law draft. It’s entirely in Burmese but I’ll translate it for you. In page 21, it says “The internet service provider operating in Myanmar must keep machines of user data in a place granted by the cyber security department. The internet service operator must be registered accordance to Myanmar company laws.” In page 22, it says “The internet service provider operating in Myanmar must keep these types of datas for 3 years (1) the user’s name, ip address, phone number, National Registration Card, home address (2) logs of user (3) other data requested by the department”. In page 19, it says “Either the electric data is sent by the original user, the person appointed as behalf of the original user or the automated system set up by the person appointed as behalf of original user, the data must be acknowledged as the data sent by the original user.” On page 24, modifying and removing features of a computer program is deemed illegal. In page 28 and 29, it says the department can temporarily ban an internet service provider, temporarily control the machines of the internet service provider and permanently close the internet service provider. On page 32, it says selling and buying digital currency or cryptocurrency is illegal. We’re going to be like China where literally everything is banned if they don’t register in the country and keep user data inside the country where the military junta can inspect whenever they want!
