Narrow Car ? or Wide Motorcycle ?

Via [blogs.motorbiker.org]

Is this a narrow car or a wide motorcycle ? According to The Narrow Car Company, it’s neither, or both … any way you want it. The motorcycle-car is being developed in Wales, UK, and is called the NARO.

The NARO motorcycle-car is their solution for overcrowding roads, pollution, time wasting, parking problems, etc. etc. etc. The NARO is a two seater configured like a motorcycle, ie, the passenger sits behind the rider, but unlike a motorcycle, it has four wheels. The motorcycle-car has special banking action which will prevent it from tipping over when cornering Rossi-style.

I wish these guys the best of luck – that thing looks smaller than the Smart Car, and has a sort-of cuteness about it. As for the engine being a 400cc single, one of those took me and luggage to Italy and back so it’s not a bad tool for the job.

Reminds me of the Messerschmitt KR series (see http http://www.motorbase.com/manufacturer/by-id/66 ), only rather more “upright” – hence, I guess, the need for the leaning action. Another nifty idea comes around again 🙂

Looks like it may get 2-3 more km per hour per litre, but other than that I would rather ride my bicycle.
