I was popping down the pub last night, early evening, and hearing what sounded like a cross between a two-stroke scooter engine and a microlight, saw a biplane flying over the village.

My home’s close proximity to Farnborough means that we get a lot of odd aircraft, but this one looked older than most – for one thing it had no obvious fuselage, no apparent rudder (there must have been one in the infrastructure somewhere) and two tailplanes, one above the other. I couldn’t see any kind of nose-wing, but it was going away from me by the time I saw it.

In fact, it looked rather like this one although the two tails were held separate by supports at either end, rather than one in the middle.

Does anyone know details about the one flying around Farnborough?
