- New: How to update Emacs on OSX to GNU Emacs 23.3.1 with almost zero pain http://bit.ly/jStrKu #
- yay – i have written my first chrome extension, and it works. tweak a couple of usability things and then publish. #
- javascript is weird: it's so familiar, and then so very very _not_ #
- WTF: Google want me to pay a one-off fee of $5 to publish my to-be opensource Chrome extension on the Chrome store? "For fraud prevention". #
- The fraudsters will write and pay for one legitimate app (using a stolen c/c) and then flood the store with bogus ones. Who thought of this? #
- @acworkma The fee is one-off-per-developer, it makes no sense to claim it's (say) cost of vetting apps. It's just barrier to developer entry #
- ISS as videoed by an amateur with a 5" refractor – http://bit.ly/jcxGu3 (WMV) via http://spaceweather.com/ # The NRO / NSA will love this #
- @BBC_Outriders Latenight hacking cross-platform crypto/password crackers on an A500, wired on 6 jugs of coffee & a slug of single malt #
- @BBC_Outriders Pink Floyd on the stereo and knowing that in the morning somebody else will be using the code I just wrote, but on a Cray #
- @BBC_Outriders Then having a friend come round after his stag night, getting drunk and laughing ourselves silly over "Lemmings" #
- @BBC_Outriders Joy of Amiga for me was multitasking & similarity to Unix / dissimilarity to Windows. In truth the same reason I now use Mac #
- @BBC_Outriders And yeah, it's all true – plus I still have my A500+A590, if it works; fabulous machine for pre-WWW internet geeks #
- @BBC_Outriders They deserve celebration not least for their different approaches. Sad they can all be emulated in JavaScript now, faster. #
