Honestly can’t tell if Civil Society believes that copyright-breaking LibGen & SciHub are rebel heroes or piratical villains

The EFF seem in favour, Wired not so much. Overall civil society seems undecided; or is it only a problem if you take all this data that’s already copyright-broken and lying around on Russian websites, and then feed it into a Large Language Model rather than Adobe Acrobat?

Versus:

Wired: “Meta Secretly Trained Its AI on a Notorious Piracy Database, Newly Unredacted Court Docs Reveal”
