Unpopular Opinion: the change to the Twitter block button is no big deal

Speaking as somebody who revolts against the idea of requiring government ID to sign up to social media, we must observe that it is trivial to create Twitter sock puppet accounts that track & stalk other users.

As such: changing the Twitter block button to act more like a Usenet kill file makes a lot of operational sense, not least because it reduces the use of sock-puppets to do stalking. It might actually improve matters.
