TFW you set up an RSS feed in 2004, and it’s still going 19 years later…

I vaguely remember creating this so I could follow my “new” standalone blog (running “bloxsom”, if I remember correctly) when converting from my old Livejournal account; it seemed sensible to set up a route for traffic to flow backwards to LJ for people who were staying there.

  1. Out of curiosity, did you do anything to your RSS setup around the time of this post? You may remember me from this post:

…and just like back then, it feels like the blog suddenly got a lot noisier in my feed reader. I’m not totally sure if it’s because you’re just posting more or if you merged the feed again, but I’m definitely seeing RSS posts for more than just longer-form posts & essays.

The solution back then worked pretty well, FWIW. I really should have said thank you back then, since you went out of your way to fix it. If you could bring that back, it would help to reduce the sudden influx of noise.

    1. Basically I rebuilt the blog from scratch on a new stack in the past 2 weeks, so now it’s actually usable. So I have been posting more, and am working to make it the standard means for me to post to social media.

    2. Here is your new feed URL, if you want only the long stuff:

      1. Neat, thanks so much!
