After the hurly-burly of the training last week, I must admit I am challenged with trying to get my head back into work.
Life, currently, veers wildly between displaying the properties of being extremely non-linear, and/or latterly highly asynchronous. I am either bouncing between offices, or doing work by e-mail, spending more and more of my time hanging off my mobile phone, or waiting for call-backs.
It’s as if the move to Guillemont Park has finally precipitated the sort of work model I have been trying to avoid these past 10 years – work comprising a series of meetings that run back to back, without much in the way of hacking time.
I have got to schedule time to get some coding done – apart from anything else, there’s a project where we need some custom code doing, and if I can find the time to do it, I’ll get it done faster than it would take time to explain all the issues to someone else.
