Hennessy Hammocks: Hammock Tents

Half tent, half hammock, these look very cool. [www.hennessyhammock.com]

Do any of you camping/hiking types use them?

So… um… if it automatically closes when you get into it, how do you get out again? (-8

I still have my giant hammock from Cropredy (the sort that takes six people — what was I thinking?) and still cannot find anywhere in the house big enough to put it. Mexican Hamacas company or something.

Anyone with a large garden who will let me visit once in a while is welcome to discuss with me why it should be in their garden and not on my bookshelves 🙂

PS: visit includes “and sit in it”. Admiring it from afar is not what I have in mind here.

I haven’t used one of these, but demi-god of outdoor kit Ray Mears says they are ace. The only things that would concern me are (i) you need two trees the right distance apart, which is not always that achievable, and (ii) wind chill.

I own a hennessy hammock expedition and it weighs about 2 pounds you get out of it by sticking your feet out the bottom of the hammock.
