Well it’s been a horrible week, mostly from the perspective of this blasted cold which is bouncing merrily around my head, throat and lungs, wreaking merry chaos and exhausting my supply of beertowels[1] at a terrifying rate.
Between that and the phenomenal amount of work that is coming down the pipe, I decided to take yesterday off, abscond with Simon, and go to the Bike Show at Alexandra Palace. Blew a small fortune: new Arai lid on reduction, a Micron paddock stand, and a Bagster tank-cover and tank-bag for the Beemer – but at least it is all stuff that I will use.
If I recover enough today I may even take a trip to the seaside to rack-up some mileage.
In other news: there isn’t really any other news. Work has been all-consuming for the past week, and that which has not been work has been being ill, asleep, or staring sleep-deprived at the ceiling in the wee hours of the morning, listening hypnotically to the chorus of Lilibulero chiming from the BBC World Service, during the off-hours of Radio 4.
…and then, Charlotte Green makes it all better. A little.

[1] Beertowels are a convenient size, stronger, softer and more absorbent than handkerchiefs, and are washable / conditionable terrycloth which I can “do” with my other laundry – and are therefore also more ecologically sound. Maybe it look silly, but your nose appreciates it, too.
