Graffiti Excedeed

I remember this rock like an old friend:

Elvis roadside rock revival bid

There are calls for a well-known landmark, which had a link to the King of Rock and Roll, to be rebuilt.

A roadside rock, daubed with the name Elvis, had for decades greeted drivers as they made their way home to the coast at Aberystwyth. But recently the rockface has been chipped away and this prompted people who remember it to contact the BBC.

One person who emailed in said: “It has been sadly missed. Last year the rock was still in the same spot but it was in pieces.”

Another commented: “Perhaps now would be a good time to reinstate it with everything that is happening with Elvis. I do not condone graffiti, but this rock was a Welsh national monument.”

Graffiti as a national monument? That seems apt.

In other news, I spent the evening sipping whisky with someone who knows the author of the Honeywell GCOS-3 error message that talked about resource limits being EXCEDEED … apparently it was a standing joke the GCOS engineering division…

indeed, an old and trusted friend which told me I was nearly there (in the days when ‘there’ was Aberystwyth, and I commuted fortnightly to see, oh someone special – all of which started fifteen years ago TODAY)

    Sorry coming over all nastalgic.
