i bought a 40gb iPod…

…and it’s 60% full already.

So you haven’t yet reached the fun bit. When your iPod is full, and you add more stuff to iTunes, you can’t simply sync the two automagically. You’ll either have to start managing the sync process manually (which is a pain), or you’ll find yourself managing your iTunes library to keep it under 40 gig. The upshot of this is that every time you buy a new CD (or download some MP3s 😉 you’ll have to decide whether you want to add it to iTunes, and if so WHAT YOU WANT TO TAKE OUT. And you’ll learn as much about yourself from what you take out as from what you’ll add. So far I’ve never found myself restoring something that I’d previously deleted. But one day….
