what i’ve been up to

busy busy busy

lots of late nights at the office, and usually late mornings at home; i have started to get into a more organised regime for waking-up, involving the today programme on radio 4, freshground coffee and a pummeling shower.

it makes life somewhat more pleasant.

thursday/friday night, crashed-over at a friend’s place in Cowley after we went out to a nice fish-restaurant in Oxford (someplace in the area around CoCo’s and Kazbah in Cowley) – thence work on friday, when everyone else was recovering from the effects of the previous few day’s frost.

saturday morning presented me with several possibilities:

  • a pilgrimage to some markets in London to restock the fridge (which I have been trying to empty, these past few weeks) and thence whiskyshops in soho
  • kite-flying on white-horse hill
  • domestic gardening and heavy earth moving

…but in the end I chose none of these, and decided to swap the tyres on my bike; it was a good deal, 127 quid all-in, and then a run to Reading to get some miles and help scrub-in the tyres. Picked up some hotsauce from a stand in The Oracle mall, and more fresh coffee.

Sunday was a blur – in fact i can’t quite remember what i did…. ah, yes, website overhaul. [crypticide.org] More stuff TBD.

Monday work. Tuesday work, late confcall, and then Gilles phoned as I left the office – so I picked him up from the hotel, wired-up my car for war-d^H^H^H^H^H wireless research and logged half a dozen stations (four wide open – hence our research suggests 66% of stations are not WEP-enabled) – then chinese food, beer, whisky and stargazing back at my place.

Wednesday – more work, more confcalls.

An awful lot of that sort of thing goes on nowadays.
