Four Goslings Named ‘James’

Sun’s Guillemont Park campus has for several months been host to a pair of Egyptian Geese – presumably feral escapes from somewhere – and only one of them had been seen much for the past few weeks so I had supposed the other’d been taken by a fox.

Not so! On sunday I stopped into the office and the truth was revealed – we now have Goslings, four of them to be precise:

Four Goslings Named James Four Goslings Named James

…and obviously they are all called “James”.

This would be confusing to non-Sun folk – we inside the company are well used to different things all having the same name, or to one thing having multiple different names – so in the spirit of our marketing division we’ve actually given them all slightly different names.

There’s:

  • James RE Gosling, and…
  • James 2EE Gosling – the biggest one, and…
  • James “Beans” Gosling – always hiding under mummy’s wing, and…
  • James 2ME Gosling – the littlest one who always seems to be running off on his own.

Daddy gander is slightly aggressive and slightly dense – he keeps hurling himself are his reflections in the window – but he does watch out for his little ones, so hopefully they will grow to full size.

Now if only we could somehow stop them pooping on the doormats…

Saw Jamesx4 + Dad at the front of GMP01 this morning; they’ve grown *a lot* in the 3 weeks or so since these pictures, and are now a good 50% of adult size. If any other wildlife decides they fancy goose for dinner, the potential dinner would be able to put up quite a fight now…
