   This takes me down memory lane, a bit. Diatoms were a hot topic in biology, back when I was at Uni – I think they’d only recently been discovered – and so we had biologists trying to get time on every scanning electron microscope around; including the ones I was using to measure grain sizes and size distribution in the superconductors I was making. That led to some very late nights and early mornings…
